Addeline stumbled slightly, tripping over an unseen object. She cautiously extended her slim, metal cane, feeling the spaces around her in an attempt to go to her table after offering a sacrifice. As her thin gray contraption bumped into several people lightly, she flinched a bit when she felt their eyes land on her accusingly, along with a few muttered swears. Her murky gray eyes were downcast, and she meekly murmured an apology in her soft voice, eyes downcast as she turned back to her table.
Blindly jabbing her fork onto her plate, she bit into a pea, nodding in thanks as her brother told her where her glass of mineral water was located-exactly seventy-two degrees north of her elbow right now, then pointedly placing it rather loudly on the table to assist her. Nibbling on a cracker, she dipped in where she deduced her clam chowder was, savoring the taste. When she got up to give the harpies her plates, she avoided all sounds of footsteps, breathing a sigh of relief when she felt her midsection bump into cool tile. She had reached it.
The familiar sound of lava bubbling from the sink soothing her ears for some unknown reason, she placed her bowl down and delicately picked up her spoon, placing it in her bowl. carefully extending her cane once again to travel through the crowded mess hall, she, once again, hit quite a few people, repeating the process of what she had done earlier today. Shadowed the murmurs and pointed glares, she walked faster, forgetting to use her cane, bumping into someone.
Her body tensed as her eyes widened instinctively, bracing herself for the fall. Feeling the cold, hard floor, she winced and sat up, ignoring the jolt of pain that caused her to hiss.
She blurted out an apology, standing up and searching frantically for her items.
"I'm so sorry! I thought I was using my cane, but I guess not..."She flushed bright red."Did you spill anything? Di immortales, I hope not!"Addeline rambled on, twisting her hands.
